Out-of-Stock Products

This setting lets you show or hide out-of-stock products in the search widget.

Where to configure it?​

Search Settings → Installation → checkbox "Show out-of-stock products"

How does it work?​

Enabled — out-of-stock products appear in search results, but are automatically ranked below in-stock products.

Disabled — out-of-stock products don't appear in the widget at all.

⚠️ Important​

warning

If this feature is disabled and a user searches for a product by an exact name or SKU match — it won't appear in the results, even if that product exists in the catalog.

This can confuse a customer who knows the exact SKU or product name.

Recommendation

Keep this feature enabled — this way the customer sees that the product exists and can add it to a wishlist or come back later.
